Another familiar face returns in 2018, as Patrick Ciganovic recommits to the Gladstone Port City Power.
The 6’6 wing is coming off his debut year in the QBL in 2017, where he had a season high 15 against the Logan Thunder. Ciganovic will look to use his 2017 experience in the QBL to propel him to greater heights in 2018. Ciganovic is a graduate of NAIA Mount Marty college in the United States and is a product of the South Australian junior high performance pathway.
On his r…eturn, Ciganovic noted “I am very grateful to Coach Walmsley for giving me the opportunity to return to Gladstone next year. My first season was very enjoyable and I can’t wait to be a part of the wonderful community again! With some QBL experience under my belt, I hope to play a role in the team returning to the playoffs in 2018”
Enthused by the addition, Coach Walmsley said “In assessing the teams areas for improvement from 2017, we identified shooting, pace of play, versatility and character as the boxes we wanted to check with our 2018 recruitment. In signing Pat, we feel he has the ability to continue to add to a roster that bolsters strength in those areas. Pat offers great versatility, has a relentless competitive spirit and is a player that thrives in a team-first system. With some more consistent opportunities, I think we will find Pat to be an effective offensive player for this group. Most importantly, he is someone who has built good relationships with the community and will continue to make impactful contributions beyond the hardwood”
