Casey Walker

The Gladstone Port City Power men sign import wing Casey Walker for QBL season 2018.

Walker was a 2014 graduate and 4-year starter at D1 NCAA program Delaware State University. Averaging over 13PPG during his college career, Walker remains 2nd all time in three point field goals made with 268.

Walker has held two professional contracts in Australia, playing in Victoria’s state championship BIGV competition for the Corio Bay Stingrays and McKinnon Cougars. Walker won a league championship in 2015 with Corio Bay, averaging 19 points per contest. Most recently, Walker averaged 20PPG in a tournament based in China against top level CBA teams.

On the signing, Coach Walmsley “I am thrilled that we have been able to attain Casey for season 2018. He is someone who is in shooting range from the moment he gets off the bus. He will stretch opposition defences and buy additional time and space for his teammates. To go with his shooting prowess, he is a well rounded offensive play maker who is dynamic in the open court. Casey is humble, hard working and dedicated to his craft – a series of qualities that make him a terrific cultural fit. Casey and I know a number of people from similar circles and all reports suggest that he is the perfect acquisition for the McDonalds Port City Power, on and off the court”

Walker returned the sentiment, stating “I am thoroughly excited about the opportunity to join the McDonalds Port City Power for 2018. I loved my time in Australia and look forward to playing in the QBL and becoming an integral part of the Gladstone community. I want to thank Coach for believing in me and giving me a chance to showcase my skills”

You only need to watch Casey’s highlights to appreciate what he will bring to the team in 2018:

Power up, Gladstone!
